Ramadan is more than just a month of fasting—it is a time of unity, compassion, and renewal. But for countless Syrian families, the joy of Ramadan has been overshadowed by years of hardship, displacement, and loss.
This year, HAND Organization is launching the "Ahlan Ramadan 2025" campaign to rekindle the warmth of family gatherings in Syria. Through communal Iftars across various governorates, we aim to bring families back together, offering them a time of comfort and belonging—a feeling many have not experienced in over 14 years.
A Ramadan Lost, A Ramadan Restored
For generations, Ramadan in Syria was a time when homes were filled with light, laughter, and the aroma of home-cooked meals. Families broke their fast together, children ran through the streets playing, and neighbors shared what little they had. But war and displacement changed everything.
Despite the hardships, the spirit of Ramadan, which embodies generosity, compassion, and togetherness, never truly disappeared—it only waited to be reignited.
With "Ahlan Ramadan 2025," we are not just providing meals; we are reviving the traditions that make Ramadan special, bringing back the joy, connection, and hope that so many families have longed for.
Why This Campaign Matters
Reuniting Hearts: We will bring together families separated by years of struggle, giving them a safe and welcoming space to share an Iftar meal.
Restoring Dignity: Every shared meal is more than just food—it is a reminder that they are not alone, that they are seen, valued, and remembered.
Bringing Joy to Children: For many children, this will be their first real Ramadan experience—filled with warmth, love, and the simple delight of sharing a meal with loved ones.
Spreading Hope: Through meaningful gatherings and activities, we will reignite the sense of community and togetherness that has been lost for far too long.
For many families, this will not just be an Iftar—it will be the first time in years that they feel the true embrace of Ramadan.
