HAND Organization convened a coordination meeting with the Governorate of Damascus, attended by the Governor of Damascus, Mr. Maher Marwan Idlibi, alongside directors and officials from relevant departments.

The meeting aimed to explore avenues of cooperation within the framework of the Damascus Heritage Protection Project and the Urban Development Program.Discussions focused on the restoration and rehabilitation of the Umayyad Mosque's surroundings.

The interventions seek to align with the cultural, religious, and historical significance of the site, while supporting ongoing efforts to safeguard the architectural and heritage identity of the Old City of Damascus.
